Here’s the current state of things. The Senate is controlled by Republicans. The House is controlled by Republicans. And the White House is controlled by the Republican Donald Trump,

The president is safely in position until at least 2020, but there’s some possibility that the Nov. 6 midterm elections will change the balance of power to some degree. There are 435 seats in the House, and all of them are up for election. In the senate, 35 out of the 100 seats are being contested.

The latest HBSDealer poll question asks readers to forecast how Congress will look on Nov. 7 — who will gain seats, and who will lose them, and where.
