New hardware store opens in Reno, Nev.

Carter Bros. Ace Hardware has opened in Reno, Nev., the first time a “mom and pop” store has emerged in downtown Reno in several years, according to wire reports.

Started by three brothers from Ely, Nev., Carter Bros. is a neighborhood format hardware store inside the city’s “McCarran loop.”

According to co-owner Tim Carter, the new store has an old-fashioned neighborhood feel, serving coffee to customers in the morning with plans to add a popcorn machine for children.

“When you come into our store, we're going to greet you. We’re going to ask you what you need help with. We’re going to talk to you about the project your working on,” Carter told local television station KOLO.
