Nevada lumberyard to close doors

2/20/2018

Copeland Lumber, a Carson City, Nev.-based lumberyard, has said it will close its doors because of “tough economic conditions,” according to the Reno (Nevada) Gazette-Journal.

"We're ... trying to continue to service our customers until the (closing) process is finished,” said Jim Crawford, president of Copeland’s parent company, Tum-A-Lum Lumber. The yard employs about 17 people, and the company is in negotiations to possibly sell the yard, he said.

The lumberyard will close within the week, according to the newspaper. In 2002, Copeland was acquired by Tum-A-Lum Lumber, a Bend, Ore.-based dealer with five other locations in California and Oregon.
