Lowe’s Canada Heroes Campaign raises big money

10/15/2019
Lowe's Canada raised 1.2 million Canadian dollars (US$907.3 million) through its 2019 Heroes Campaign.

Throughout September, 270 Lowe’s, Rona and Reno-Depot corporate stores raised funds to help the non-profit organization or public school of their choice. Lowe’s Canada matched 50% of all donations, up to a maximum of C$2,000 (US$1,512) per donation.

The funds are being distributed to more than 245 community organizations across Canada.

“The Lowe's Canada Heroes Campaign's success goes beyond the sums presented,” said Jean-Sébastien Lamoureux, senior vice president of public affairs, asset protection and sustainable development for Lowe’s Canada. “It lies in in our employees' and customers' high level of engagement towards helping those who play a positive role in their communities.”

Among the partner organizations, over 15 will be receiving donations of more than C$10,000 (US$7,560).

“Again this year, our stores have organized an array of fundraising activities to maximize the amount provided to their Hero organization," Lamoureux said. "In addition, several employees will further support their chosen cause by taking part, on their personal time, in volunteer activities over the next year."

Based in Boucherville, Quebec, Lowe's Canada, along with its subsidiary Rona, operates or services more than 600 corporate and independent affiliate dealer stores in a number of formats under different banners. These include Lowe's, RONA, Reno-Depot, Ace and Dick's Lumber.
