Here’s a product test you don’t see every day

In a remote forest north of Vancouver, product experts from LP Building Products and two of the world’s leading kayakers put the durability of LP Legacy sub-flooring to an unusual test. They sent it over the edge of Britannia Falls, a 70-foot drop flobing at 625 cubic feet of water per second.

Then they left the panel in the falls’ swirling wake overnight.

“As we were developing this campaign, we really wanted a way to differentiate our product from everything else in the market,” says LP Business Marketing Manager Lorraine Russ. “One way to do that is to show the performance of the board in a completely different and unique way. And what better way to do that than to put the product into some really extreme conditions that go far beyond what you might see on even the harshest jobsite.”

The company says that 24 later, when the team retrieved the board from the river, the panel showed some bumps and bruises but no signs of swelling.

The company says its LP Legacy sub-flooring is APA-rated with the highest bending stiffness and as one of the strongest sub-floor panels in the industry. The sub-floor boasts superior moisture resistance that prevents edge swell. It carries a class-leading “Covered Until It’s Covered” no-sand warranty, as well as a Lifetime Limited Warranty that lasts as long as the home.
