Hancock Lumber is 'Best' in Maine, again

9/3/2019
Hancock Lumber has been named a “Best Place to Work in Maine” for the 6th year in a row.

The pro dealer participates annually in the Best Places to Work in Maine 3rd party survey.

Every employee throughout the company is invited to anonymously share their thoughts on how they feel the company performs, including benefits to culture and day-to-day operations.

“This award is not about what we do, but how we do what we do. It’s about working in a manner that aspires to respect, value, and empower every person’s voice in our company,” said Kevin Hancock, president and CEO of Hancock Lumber.

In an announcement on its website, Hancock Lumber said the award is “special because it is only earned if the people doing the work feel they are provided a best in class work experience. We celebrate this recognition as it represents every voice on Team Hancock!”

“While this is our 6th year in a row to be fortunate enough to be named one of the Best Places to Work in Maine, I am always so excited and grateful to get the news! I want to congratulate everyone on our team; this is not an accolade that is easy to come by and it is highly dependent on the quality of our people and how we choose to engage in our shared goals and workplace priorities!  I feel super grateful every day to be able to work with such a passionate and caring group,” said Wendy Scribner, human resources director at Hancock Lumber.

Hancock operates 14 locations, including a network of yards and kitchen design showrooms, eastern white pine sawmills, truss and wall panel manufacturing facilities, and a home office in Casco, Maine. The company recently broke ground on its 15th location in Saco.
