Hancock Lumber breaks ground on 10th yard

8/19/2019
Hancock Lumber officially broke ground in Saco, Maine at the future home of its 10th lumber yard and kitchen design showroom.

The newest location will be Hancock’s 15th overall, adding to its existing network of yards and kitchen design showrooms, eastern white pine sawmills, truss and wall panel manufacturing facilities, and home office.

HBSDealer first reported about the new Saco location last February. Since then, the pro dealer has moved into a new headquarters in Casco, Maine.

At a recent groundbreaking ceremony, Hancock Lumber COO Mark Hopkins, thanked the City of Saco for their enthusiasm in welcoming Hancock Lumber and for their willingness to proactively work with Hancock Lumber, ultimately creating a smooth planning board approval process.

The new location will include a 3,000 square-foot kitchen showroom, hardware store, 30,000 square-foot lumber yard, and add 30 jobs to the community. This location will enable Hancock Lumber to better serve customers in Saco and the neighboring communities in York and Cumberland County.

Hancock said it expects to open the new location the summer of 2020.
