“We are in unprecedented times. The coronavirus crisis and the challenges it has brought with it has affected us all differently,” said Evans, owner at Redwoods, Inc. in Waco, Texas. “As I embark on my term as president, I will need each one of you. We must be sensitive to each other’s walk. Now more than ever, an investment in our association has the opportunity to support the success of all.”

“We are grateful to have Greg’s leadership and excited about what he will accomplish during his tenure,” said Mireya Zapata, Executive Vice President at LAT. “From building strong relationships with elected officials to sharing LAT’s mission with his peers and suppliers, Greg is already a valued partner in the association’s priorities. He will rely on the support of his wife Cynthia and the entire team at Redwoods, Inc. and we thank them for their efforts as well.”

LAT’s Board of Directors elected Evans and the slate of 2020 – 2021 Directors during its May 13, 2020 meeting.

Evans graduated from Texas A&M University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science in Dairy Science, and worked in that field until 1994, at which time he came back to work at Redwoods, Inc. He worked his way from the lumber yard into the office. Eventually Evans and his wife Cynthia Evans purchased Redwoods, Inc. from his parents in 2005.

Evans has served on the Executive Committee of LAT’s Board of Directors for two years and is also on his second term as a LUMPAC trustee. He is also a member of the Greater Waco Chamber, the Heart of Texas Builders Association, and the Associated General Contractors of America.
