DaVinci Roofscapes rolls out exterior color contest

DaVinci Roofscapes is holding an exterior color contest to determine the homeowner most deserving of a color makeover.

The 2015 "Shake it Up" Exterior Color Contest, accepting submissions April 1 through 24, culminates in a $2,500 cash grand prize for the winning homeowner to put toward a new home exterior look.

To enter, contestants should submit a photo of their home's exterior to the contest website, as well as a 250-word description of their vision for an exterior color makeover.

Finalists will be judged by national color expert Kate Smith and "Today's Homeowner with Danny Lipford" radio co-host Allen Lyle.

The public will then have a chance to vote for their favorite of three finalists from May 16 to 30.

"Springtime is ideal for shaking up the home exterior with color," says Smith, chief color maven of Sensational Color. "From the top of the roof down to the front door and trim on the home, there are lots of ways to add color to jazz up the house exterior. This contest helps provide insight and inspiration to homeowners to find the colors that work best for their homes."

For the top three finalists, Smith will team up with a professional artist to create renderings and product wish lists for their projects.

The finalist with the most online votes will win the cash prize -- to be announced on or around June 5.
