Armstrong acquring ACGI

Armstrong World Industries, Inc. (AWI) reported that it is acquirng the business and assets of Architectural Components Group, Inc. (ACGI).

Based in Marshfield, Mo., ACGI manufactures custom wood ceilings and walls and has annual revenues of about $35 million. AWI, who manufactures residential and commercial ceilings, walls and suspension systems, said ACGI products will complement and enhance the company’s building product solutions.

“This acquisition will mark our largest to date and a continuation of our inorganic growth initiatives to increase our participation in the high-value Architectural Specialties segment, “ said AWI CEO Vic Grizzle. “With ACGI, we will dramatically expand our architectural specialties portfolio and capabilities to meet the growing demand for wood ceilings and walls.”

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2019. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. AWI will fund the acquisition with available cash.

AWI said it expects to serve existing and future customers out of the acquired Missouri facility and through its current distribution channels.
