Arcitell announces new cladding

Qora cladding reduces installation time and looks realistic, company says.
Qora cladding, a lightweight fiber reinforced polymer panel that authentically replicates traditional brick, stone and wood siding, is launching in the U.S. in early 2019 and will debut in Las Vegas during the 2019 International Builders Show.

Jeff Adams, President and CEO of Arcitell, says “Qora was born from the belief that Arcitell could finally produce a cladding product without trade-offs — and our persistence to not stop until that material existed. By creating this joint effort between Canton, Ohio-based Belcap, Inc., a member of the Belden family of holdings, and Milan, Italy-based Acell Industries, we’re doing just that.”

Originating in Italy, the first-generation panels were developed for proof-of-concept projects in Europe and won specification on several projects, including an energy retrofit for a Dutch home that included 12 inches of continuous insulation co-bonded to the panels; an Italian historic retrofit to match the structure’s 100-year-old failing architecture; and an exclusive hotel conference center in the U.K. Arcitell is presently in development of second-generation panels with improved joint design and detail integration.

“The successful proof-of-concept trials in Europe and the market need for labor-saving new products made it a natural conclusion to migrate this technology to North America. Arcitell brings solid product solutions to an industry ready for practical innovation,” says Adams.
