Ace to expand Texas distribution center

5/31/2019
Oak Brook, Ill.-based Ace Hardware Corp. plans to expand its Wilmer, Texas distribution center, more than doubling the size of the existing 450,000 square-foot facility.

The Wilmer distribution center – known as a “Retail Support Center” in Ace’s parlance – originally opened in 2014. Construction for the project is expected to begin in the second quarter of 2019 with a target completion in the second quarter of 2020.

“We look forward to breaking ground on the expansion of our Wilmer Retail Support Center, an important piece in Ace’s overall supply chain,” said Lori Bossmann, executive VP and chief supply chain officer for Ace Hardware Corporation. “Ace’s continued volume growth has driven our need for a larger facility to accommodate our growing business demands. This expansion will enable faster service for Ace retailers and ultimately our valued customers.”

The Retail Support Center in Wilmer is an integral part of Ace’s network of distribution facilities strategically located around the world. It serves approximately 300 Ace Hardware retail locations throughout Texas, New Mexico and parts of Oklahoma. Ace will also add more than 70 new jobs to meet the business needs of the Retail Support Center.

“Ace has been a terrific corporate citizen through their support of local charities and events in Wilmer, and the city looks forward to continuing its valued relationship,” said David D. Miracle, executive director of economic development for Wilmer.
