Fixr, a website that provides cost guides for home improvement projects, created a graphic image to illustrate state-by-state home improvement spending. Not surprisingly, California is at the top of the list.

The graphic is based on a National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and its report on forecasted spending on improvements to owner-occupied housing in 2019.

The majority (52.9%) of states are forecasted to spend between $1 billion and $5 billion on home improvement in 2019. According to Fixr, these means these are the markets where the construction industry is thriving. This is also up from last year’s estimates of 50.9% states spending in this range.
