84 Lumber spotlights design services

The pro dealer places a focus on the work and services from its Design Studio network.
At the most recent International Builders Show in Las Vegas, part of 84 Lumber’s message was the kitchen and bath design services it offers.

The Eighty Four, Pa.-based pro dealer has launched a spin-off website, 84DesignStudios.com, which focuses on a full spectrum of design services, including kitchens, baths, living rooms and more.

84 Lumber says that its studios offer many different cabinet styles and price points. Combined with its buying capacity, the dealer can work effectively with customers and help them focus on what is really important to them and the remodeling project.

Extensive collections of hardware, fixtures, and finishes for a kitchen or bath refresh are part of 84 Lumber’s Design Studio offerings.

The dealer’s 20/20 Design program provides 3-D renderings of a client’s project including where windows and doors are located. At that point, the studio team can work with the client to move design elements around to see other options.

84 Lumber Custom Millwork shops can also help a client customize their project. The dealer notes that it has the ability to support remodelers and builders by creating custom material that will achieve a clients’ goals, whether it’s matching an old-style crown moulding or creating something that a customer has seen in a magazine.

As part of the site launch for 84DesignStudios.com, 84 Lumber is featuring talent in a “Meet Our Designers” section. First up is Helena Briggs, based the Annapolis, Md. Design Studio location.

Briggs joined 84 Lumber as a designer in 2016. Prior, she worked in the cabinet industry for 25 years.

The designer’s strategy includes “to always think outside the box.” Briggs says when planning a project, a designer and the client need to think about how a space can be improved to create a comfortable, organized, and multi-functional area not only for cooking but for gathering and entertaining.

A trend that Briggs has shared is having a contemporary, European-style philosophy of clean lines and multi-functional spaces to help reduce clutter. Having various organization accessories help create those multi-functional spaces.

84 Lumber has 30 Design Studio locations and 250 overall locations, including yards and manufacturing facilities.
