84 Lumber has big plans in Richmond
New location will be the pro dealer’s largest to date.
84 Lumber will open its largest location to date when it moves to a 92,000-square-foot facility this November in Richmond, Va.
The new space will include a traditional store and lumberyard, as well as a door shop and a manufacturing facility for roof trusses, wall panels and other components.
The purpose for the move is to continue expanding in the Richmond area after seeing significant growth in recent years, the pro dealer told HBSDealer.
“We have really outgrown our current space in Richmond and sought a new location that can better accommodate our operations and customers. Aside from offering essential materials to local builders, the new facility will also enable us to provide engineered wood products and other manufacturing services,” 84 Lumber president Maggie Hardy said. “We’re looking forward to the opening this fall.”
The site was most recently occupied by Cedar Creek, the distributor acquired last year by BlueLinx.
Based in Eighty Four, Pa., 84 Lumber operates approximately 250 locations, including manufacturing facilities.
