Nation’s Best expands in Okla. and Texas
Nation’s Best continued its run of lumberyard and home center acquisitions, bringing Ron’s Lumber & Home Center in Howe, Oklahoma and Gilmer Lumber in Gilmer, Texas, into its fold.
As part of Nation’s Best’s acquisition strategy, both locations will plan to maintain operations under their existing names with their management teams overseeing company operations alongside Nation’s Best, which will provide the strategic and financial support necessary to achieve optimal growth and profitability, according to the announcement.
Nation’s Best is a member-owner of Do it Best Corp. Prior to its acquisition of Ron’s and Gilmer Lumber, Nation’s Best most recent acquisitions were of Hipp Modern Builders Supply in Arkansas; Panhandle Lumber & Supply in Florida and Caron Building Center of New Hampshire. All occurred in the last three months.
Nation’s Best President and CEO Chris Miller said the new additions expand the footprint with more high-quality family businesses. “Ron’s Lumber, with its large home center and unique, niche category offerings, along with a full line lumberyard, is central to our access to markets in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas,” Miller said. “In addition, Gilmer Lumber has been a trusted pro builder resource for nearly 100 years and complements our growing presence in the North Texas market.

The announcement included the following statements from Matt Blake, owner of Ron’s Lumber, and Greg Williams co-owner of Gilmer Lumber.
