Menards eyes new Ohio manufacturing facility

6/18/2020

Plans are underway for Menards to build a new distribution and manufacturing facility in Ravena, Ohio.

The proposed project includes renovating an existing building that will result in a 200,000-square-foot structure used for concrete block manufacturing, distribution, and warehousing, according to a report by the Record-Courrier.

Menards operates about 20 stores in Ohio with more than 300 locations spread throughout 14 states in the Midwest.

The facility will be situated on more than 60 acres with construction expected to begin in 2021. Additionally, the site will provide Menards with rail access.

Dennis West, Ravena economic development director, said the $51.7 million project will create 90 jobs. Once construction has begun, the project will take about a year to complete.

The location will also host a wood recycling plant, with damaged lumber and scraps turned into mulch.
