The new Spicewood, Texas McCoy's location will have a similar feel to this Liberty Hill store, which opened in June.

Texas dealer McCoy’s Building Supply recently poured the foundation for a new store in Spicewood, roughly 38 miles northwest of Austin.

McCoy’s said the new Texas location will continue McCoy’s tradition of providing an exceptional customer service experience from its friendly, knowledgeable staff and supplying high-quality building materials for a wide range of building projects. The new facility will serve builders, remodelers, do-it-yourselfers, and the farm and ranch community.

McCoy’s also noted that it is a proud sponsor of Texas FFA, 4-H and the Texas High School Rodeo Association and carries a selection of farm and ranch equipment.

“McCoy’s has been serving the Austin area since we opened our first store there in 1969,” said Phil Hutchinson, McCoy’s real estate manager. “We believe in Austin and are excited for the continued growth and success of the Central Texas area.”

Construction is expected to take 30 weeks with Embree Group of Georgetown, Texas, serving as the general contractor on the project.

The store's design will reflect similar updated features of McCoy’s stores in Liberty Hill and Bay City, Texas, with a spacious interior retail area, a paved lumberyard, and a large drive-through lumber storage area.

Based in San Marcos, Texas, McCoy’s is one of the nation’s largest privately held building supply retailers. With 2,900 employees, McCoy’s operates 89 stores, three distribution facilities, and two millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and New Mexico.
