The next Marcus Lumber location in Storm Lake, Iowa is expected to open next spring.

In the year Marcus Lumber has celebrated its 100th anniversary, the dealer announced that it plans to open a new location.

The move marks the second location for Marcus Lumber.

Situated in Storm Lake, Iowa, the new store will feature a 17,000-square-foot home center in addition to an attached drive-through lumberyard.

In a statement issued by the company, Marcus Lumber said that it “is eager to bring the same strong independent presence we have established in Marcus to Storm Lake.”

The store is expected to undergo a remodel with plans for an opening in late spring of 2021.

“We are excited to serve our existing customers in the area even better with this location and look forward to welcoming many new customers from Storm Lake and surrounding areas,” the company said.

Marcus Lumber said it will hire approximately 10 associates to work at the new store.

Based in Marcus, Iowa, Marcus Lumber was founded on Feb. 1, 1920 when Roger T. Leavitt and his family purchased the Thomas Patton Lumber Company. Marcus Lumber is now in its third and fourth generation as a family-owned business.
