Makita USA's new cordless Brushless Power Cutter
Makita U.S.A., Inc., has introduced the 18V X2 (36V) LXT Brushless 9” Power Cutter.
The power tool has the power to cut through concrete, masonry, and metal materials with all the benefits and convenience of cordless operation. The power cutter is available as both a bare tool (XEC01Z) and a kit (XEC01PT1).
The XEC01 has a maximum cutting depth of 3-1/2”, which allows for single-pass cuts in many common materials, including standard residential 4” concrete slabs (actual 3-1/2”), common 3- 1/2” paver/blocks, 3” SCH40 pipe (3-1/2” OD), and 3” conduit (3-1/2” OD).
It is an ideal cordless solution for masons, roofers, plumbers, remodelers, construction workers, landscape and hardscape workers, metal fabricators, commercial framers, pipefitters, vehicle mechanics, firefighters, and more.
Benefits of a cordless power cutter over a gas power cutter include no oil/gas mixing, no emissions, no pull starts, no engine maintenance, and lighter weight. This means reduced operator fatigue for use on vertical walls, as well as instant starts and cost savings. With zero emissions it can be used indoors and in tight spaces.
The Makita LXT Cordless System is powered by 18V lithium-ion slide-style batterie while providing users with advanced, durable, and dependable 18V products.
An integrated water delivery system continuously feeds water for concrete cutting applications. Water flow is controlled with an adjustment knob. The belt-drive design provides smoother operation with lower vibration.
The XEC01 also has a purpose-built BL Brushless Motor, which eliminates carbon brushes and enables the motor to run cooler and more efficiently for longer life. The brushless motor delivers 6,600 RPM.
Other features of the cordless power cutter include a built-in L.E.D. light, large spindle lock button for easier wheel changes, rubberized front handle for comfort, a lock-off power switch and soft start, integrated overload indicator, L.E.D. battery charge indicator, and protective battery compartment.
