Makita U.S.A., Inc., has introduced the 18V LXT brushless cordless compact one-handed recipro saw, model XRJ08.

“Its compact, lightweight, balanced and is ideal for cutting in tight spaces or overhead applications. In addition, it is a great fit for users looking for a one-handed cutting solution,” said Rudy Jansen, product marketing manager, residential construction, for Makita U.S.A, Inc.

The saw delivers 0 - 3,100 strokes per minute combined with a 7/8-inch stroke length for up to 55% faster cutting speeds, said the company.

It can perform up to 90 cuts in 2x10 lumber, and up to 50 cuts in 1-inch schedule 80 steel pipe with a fully charged 5.0Ah battery (battery and charger sold separately).

The XRJ08 is equipped with a counterweight mechanism, said the firm, that helps achieve up to 40% lower vibration levels – when compared to model number XRJ07ZXB – when cutting, which reduces operator fatigue.

A built-in LED light illuminates the workspace and an “ergonomic design of only 14-3/8-inch long makes it ideal for working in tight spaces and overhead applications,” said the company.

The recipro saw is part of the expanding lineup of cordless reciprocating saws, said Jansen.
