84 Lumber opens in Florida Keys

Rebuilding continues in the Florida Keys, and that’s where 84 Lumber opened its newest store.

To meet what it describes as a growing need for lumber and building materials across Florida, particularly after the devastation caused by Hurricane Irma last year, 84 Lumber has opened a new location in Big Pine Key (photo below).

Located along the Overseas Highway, this retail store will be easily accessible to residents in Big Pine Key as well as surrounding areas connected by the highway, including Bahia Honda Key, West Summerland Key and Little Torch Key.

With a strong presence already established in Florida, 84 Lumber’s newest location offers local communities building materials such as roofing, trim, treated lumber, windows and doors, 84 Lumber said. The company provides special orders to local residents in need and single-day turnaround for more specific projects. A 2,275-square-feet showroom is also on the property.

“In Big Pine Key, we’re continuing 84 Lumber’s tradition of offering high-quality, essential building materials,” said 84 Lumber’s chief operating officer Frank Cicero. “The timing is especially important to the Florida Keys and surrounding areas as they continue to rebuild in the aftermath of Irma.”

Based in Eighty Four, Pa., 84 Lumber operates more than 250 stores, component manufacturing plants, custom door shops, custom millwork shops and engineered wood product (EWP) centers in 30 states. In addition to Big Pine Key, the company has recently opened stores in Riverhead, N.Y.; Holbrook, Mass; Ruskin, Fla.; and Greensboro, N.C.
