Franklin Building Supply readies for new truss facility

4/11/2019
Franklin Building Supply is building a new truss manufacturing facility in Jerome, Idaho.

The new 15,000-square-foot operation will replace an older facility that was acquired by Franklin in 1999.

“The new truss plant will help us to be more efficient,” Rick Lierz, CEO of Franklin Building Supply, told HBSDealer. “When you build a new facility you have the opportunity to set it up for optimal use. This will make doing business easier and allow us to produce more trusses.”

The new plant will be situated on property adjacent to the older facility, which Franklin has been looking to replace for some time, according to Lierz. At this point, the older model can no longer be added on to or upgraded.

The truss operation serves a large geographic region including south-central and eastern Idaho along with northern Nevada. Lierz said the company hopes to have the new truss facility completed and fully operational by October.

Based in Boise, Idaho, Franklin Building Supply operates 12 yards along with 6 door shops, 5 design centers, and 2 truss manufacturing facilities.
