LP’s humane holiday donation

12/23/2020

In the spirit of giving, the LP Building Solutions shed product sector—LP Outdoor Building Solutions—recently partnered with locally-based national shed brand, Old Hickory Buildings, to donate a premium custom storage shed to nonprofit animal shelter and adoption center Nashville Humane Association (NHA).

To stock the new shed with donated toys and pet products, LP also facilitated a partnership with Knoxville-based pet product company PetSafe brand.

The new shed replaced NHA’s old, worn storage pod and will be used to safely store and organize their pet items and food supply.

The new addition will also free up space within the facility for other uses including training, adoption meetings, and playtime sessions. The shed was also built custom to fit the space and aesthetic of the current building, as well as to include custom shelving for enhanced storage.

This donation highlights LP’s, Old Hickory’s and PetSafe brand’s dedication to giving back to those communities in which they serve and live, and its part of an annual charitable shed donation LP Outdoor Building Solutions leads during the holiday season.

Rachel Hudson, LP Segment Marketing Associate for Shed, says, “Last year, we donated a food bank structure to a charity in one of our major Illinois regions. This year, we wanted to bring it home to Nashville.”

“We’re proud to give back to a long-time charitable organization, like NHA, who has a reputation for going above and beyond to ensure the well-being of homeless animals,” Hudson added.

“We hope this shed helps ease the day-to-day lives of NHA employees, and the products give the pet ‘residents’ something special during this season of giving.”

To celebrate the donation, NHA hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony with LP, partners, NHA employees, and furry friends on Dec. 17.

Becca Morris, NHA Director of Development and Operations, was thrilled to recognize and thank LP and others in-person. “We had been in desperate need of replacing our old pod, so when we were approached by LP we jumped at the opportunity,” Morris said. “We are so grateful to LP for organizing this donation and event to support our association. We can’t express how much gratitude we have for them, the Old Hickory crew for dedicating their time to creating a custom shed just for us, and the PetSafe team for donating supplies just in time for the holidays!”

Locally-based shed brand, Old Hickory Buildings, helped with material donations in addition to donating their time to build and transport the custom shed.

Old Hickory Owner and President, Brian Berryman, says, “Our business is built on answering the storage needs of local customers by providing high-quality portable buildings and sheds. We’re pleased to provide NHA with a quality shed that we know will last. We’re lucky to be in an industry that has maintained business during these unprecedented times, which makes it even more important for us to give back to our community and those who serve it.”

Celeste Vlok, marketing manager for PetSafe brand, said, “In having donated to NHA previously, we know firsthand that our products will be put to good use. With companionship being more top-of-mind and their facility being busier than ever before, we are grateful for the opportunity to partner with other local businesses to support such a deserving organization.”

LP Building Solutions is based in Nashville, Tenn.
