It‘s nomination time for Top Women

HBSDealer’s Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply event recognizes leaders, and future leaders.
5/1/2022

HBSDealer’s Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply program brought industry leaders to Chicago in late 2021 to celebrate achievement and — more importantly — to provide networking opportunities and educational support to help advance the careers of women in the industry.

In 2022 the mission continues. And we’ll be back in Chicago Nov. 8-9, 2022.

HBSDealer readers can join the effort by simply recommending a colleague (or competitor) who shows promise, initiative, innovation or leadership in the hardware and building supply industry. Here’s the nomination form for entry into the 2022 class of Top Women.

“The Top Women program is riding a wave of momentum, not only from last year’s event but also from the stories that are playing out across the industry of women rising to positions of leadership,” said Amy Grant, associate publisher of HBSDealer. “Our 2022 event is going to be better than ever, and we look forward to recognizing those who are making a difference in their companies and beyond.”

Here's what to do

What qualifies an industry professional as a Top Woman award winner? The program recognizes two categories:

• Rising Stars
This award recognizes a talented professional with the potential to make a significant positive difference within her company and within the industry for years to come.

• Business Excellence
This award recognizes a leader who has demonstrated achievement, growth and success in the hardware and home improvement industry; embraced education and community service, and inspired others to follow a similar path.

The 2022 Top Women in Hardware & Building Supply event will return to Chicago Nov. 8-9. Contact Amy Grant for more detailed information.

Additional thoughts on the Top Women program:

• Past honorees and other advisors strongly support the idea behind the phrase: “We’re all in this together.” Men as well as women are encouraged to participate in the Top Women nomination process, and both are encouraged to join us in Chicago for the live event.

• Fairness and equity are sound reasons to support efforts to increase the role of women in a male-dominated hardware and building supply industry. But another consideration drives HBSDealer’s commitment: diversity is good for business, good for organizations and good for the industry.

• And finally, supporting and encouraging women in the industry is a mission that lasts more than two days out of the year. HBSDealer strives to keep the movement alive in the pages of each issue of HBSDealer magazine, on the HBSDealer.com website and through a Top Women in Hardware Supply linkedin page.
