Higginbotham Brothers celebrates 140 years
Dating back to 1881, this year marks the 140th year of continued retail operations for Higginbotham Brothers & Company.
Today Higginbotham Brothers & Company owns and operates 40 lumberyards and hardware stores throughout Texas and Oklahoma.
The company opened its 40th location in Liberty Hil, Texas during the fourth quarter of 2020.
Based in Comanche, Texas, the dealer’s roots date back to when J.M. Higginbotham, along with his family, moved from Water Valley Mississippi to Dublin, Texas. It was there that Higginbotham opened 1st General Merchantile Store.
That marked the beginning for a company that is still growing its footprint and expanding thru acquisitions and new greenfield locations.
