Heritage Landscape Supply acquires Watson Supply

Heritage Landscape Supply Group, Inc., a subsidiary of SRS Distribution, has acquired Watson Supply.

Based in Harrisburg, Pa., Watson Supply is a family-owned distributor of hardscapes, lighting, irrigation, and other landscape products. The transaction closed on Feb. 12. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Watson Supply was founded in 1993 by Jay Watson and his son, Tim. Since 2000, Tim has been president and he will continue to lead the company under the Watson Supply Banner.

“Watson is a perfect follow-on to our recent acquisition of Aquarius Supply in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions and provides an attractive platform for rapid growth,” said Matt McDermott, president of Heritage Landscape Supply. “We will put all of Heritage's resources behind the Watson team and look forward to being their partner for growth in the coming years.”

Herriage operates 16 brands with more than 110 locations across 24 states. 

“I have developed a great amount of respect for the Heritage operating model and the way that they do business by always putting people and customers first,” said Tim Watson. “We have had opportunities to partner with others over the years, but we felt the Heritage team cared the most about our employees and would do the best job at preserving our family’s legacy.”

This is the third acquisition announced by Heritage in 2021. 

Heritage acquired Atlanta Landscape Materials a distributor of aggregates, stone, and other landscape products earlier this month. In January Heritage also purchased Wolf Creek Company, a distributor of irrigation, outdoor lighting, and landscape products headquartered in Trotwood, Ohio.

Based in McKinney, Texas, Heritage Landscape Supply was launched by SRS Distribution in 2019.

Heritage has quickly grown while following the SRS strategy of expansion through acquisitions. SRS has more than 430 locations in 43 states.
