Hardware & Building Supply Dealer, a division of media and market intelligence leader EnsembleIQ, named veteran business-to-business journalist Tim Burke as associate editor. Burke will lead the brand’s coverage of hardware stores and DIY retailing.

The Skokie, Ill.-native brings more than two decades of publishing experience to the job, including roles as editor, writer and innovative content creator. He has covered markets as diverse as crime, healthcare and fraternal societies. Most recently, Burke led American Drycleaner magazine, serving thousands of independent businesses on Main Streets across the country.

“Our team patiently engaged in a lengthy recruitment process that led to this announcement,” said HBSDealer Editor in Chief Ken Clark. “Hiring Tim was an easy decision. His passion for business reporting and for the businesses he reports on will no doubt lead to continued growth and success for our brand.”

Burke officially joined the staff Sept. 23.

“Hardware store retailing is an iconic American industry with a great tradition of service and success,” Burke said. “I’m very happy to come on board, share what I know and dive into the strategies, tactics and products at the heart of the business.”

The Hardware & Building Supply Dealer media network of print, online, e-newsletters and events connects market leaders and decision-makers that drive the industry.
