Westlake adds to Texas portfolio
A McKinney, Texas, Groom & Sons’ Ace Hardware location is the latest addition to the growing Westlake Ace Hardware chain, which will own and operate 13 stores in Texas when the transaction is made final later this month.
According to Kansas Ctiy, Mo.-based Westlake, the acquisition will be a seamless transition of ownership and the store will retain management, store personnel, and most of the current product mix. As part of the purchase, the store will become a Westlake Ace Hardware location.
Groom & Sons’ has been in business since 1948 and will continue to own and operate its other stores in Athens, Dallas and Mabank.

The 12,717 sq. ft. McKinney store will continue to sell traditional hardware products such as fasteners, tools, plumbing and electrical supplies. Additionally, the store features a full range of grills, Stihl outdoor power equipment, and Benjamin Moore paint, among other brands.
