Inside Elliott's Hardware, the Slideshow

3/21/2019
Elliott's Hardware's newest store, which opened in October 2018, reflects Elliott’s effort to keep up with the retail times. The sparkling, new 20,000 square foot store commands a corner location in the Fairview Town Center, about a half-hour north of Dallas.

Shoppers are greeted with clean sight-lines, stained concrete floors, a high-open ceiling and a strong home décor department. Inside are departments that carry on the Elliott’s traditions, and others that have been modified or introduced from

  • Elliott’s Hardware Workshop, for key replacement and miscellaneous repairs;

  • Stihl and Honda power equipment;

  • Elliott’s Backyard, with an emphasis on grilling (don’t call it “barbecue”);

  • Housewares, gadgets and Texas-themed merchandise to create a true shopping experience.

  • A wall of decorative hardware, part of the Hardware Plus program for kitchen, bath and cabinets;

“We just have some specialty areas that we've developed over the years that we happen to be pretty strong in,” said Andrea Spencer, Elliott's brand manager and granddaughter of founder Jerre Elliott. “Hardware Plus is one of them. It's our custom kitchen and bath cabinets hardware, and it’s been a core part of our business. We've always been strong in paint. Household cleaning supplies are not a huge category, but we do very well and have incredible breadth of product there, and customers know that.

“I think we still provide what the customer's looking for in terms of selection and service.” Spencer continued. “Those were two key tenants that my grandfather founded Elliot's on. We do our best every day to carry that torch and find the customer what they need and do it well.”

Elliott's was founded in 1947. The company became part of the Central Network Retail Group in 2012.
