2/20/2018

Natchez, Mississippi-based Central Network Retail Group expanded further into the Southeast, bringing Hiawassee Hardware of Hiawassee, Georgia to its portfolio of stores.

The new addition to CNRG marks the network's fifth store in Georgia, and its 47th in the United States.

Hiawassee Hardware was founded in 1947 by H. Dan Paris Sr. and has served the community’s hardware and lumber needs for the past 67 years. Dan’s son, H. Dan Paris Jr. has worked in the business with his father since 1980 and took over full responsibility for the business when his father died in 2011. The store sells lumber, hardware, plumbing, electrical, tools, paint and lawn and garden supplies, serving both DIY and Pro customers. CNRG is converting the store from Ace to Orgill, introducing some new categories of product, working to improve assortments and merchandising, and implementing new computer systems.

“We are excited about the addition of Hiawassee Hardware to our team in Georgia,” said Jimmy R. Smith, chairman of CNRG.

Boyden Moore, president of CNRG, added, “ Hiawassee Hardware is a great fit with our strategy at CNRG. Dan and his team have built great relationships with their customers over the years. We are excited to invest in this opportunity and help improve Hiawassee Hardware’s ability to take care of their customers’ needs. This will be a great example of the synergy that CNRG was designed to create.”

Paris commented, “We are pleased to announce our new association with Central Network Retail Group. I know that they will carry on our tradition of dedication to our customers and community. We thank our customers for their support and generosity."

CNRG currently operates 47 home centers, hardware stores, and lumberyards in nine states under eleven different brands. CNRG was formed in 2011, by Jimmy R. Smith, president of Home Hardware and Boyden Moore, president of Tyndale Advisors. The company says it is building a multi-format, multi-brand operating company through strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
