Carr Hardware, a family owned hardware chain that operates four stores in western Massachusetts and another in Connecticut, plans to open a new showcase location in Lenox, Mass.

The 11,000 square foot retail space will be located in The Center at Lenox on routes 7 and 20, currently home to well-known retailers CVS, Marshalls and Price Chopper. Conversion of the existing space into a state of the art new Carr Hardware store begins in May and the new store is expected to open in early 2020.

“We are truly excited about the opportunity to build a brand new innovative and complete home improvement store that features a customer shopping experience specially designed for the Lenox community,” said Bart Raser, president of Carr Hardware. “The store will serve the needs of local business, contractors, resorts and homeowners, alike.”

He said the opening will strengthen the brand’s presence in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts, and complements nearby stores in Lee, Pittsfield, Great Barrington and North Adams. With the new store in Lenox, Carr will operate seven stores.

Preferred brands to be featured include: STIHL, Toro, Husqvarna, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Weber, Big Green Egg, Scotts, Graber and Carhartt, to name just a few. Special services like digital key duplication, screen and glass repair along with propane will also be offered. Free local delivery will be available as well as the Carr assurance.

Carr Hardware has 90 years of experience serving its communities.
