Hardware store turns 100
Kroegers Ace Hardware is going strong in Durango, Colo.

That's how Joel Krueger, owner of Kroeger's Ace Hardware of Durango, Colo., explained the company's longevity to a reporter from the Durango Herald.

The story of the hardware store dates back to 1921, when brothers Fred and John Kroeger bought a Farmers Supply Co. and added hardware and other hardware store staples.
In an interesting near-coincidence, Joel Krueger (spelled with a "u") is not related to the founders of the hardware store.
