Former True Value counsel takes job with Utz

Hanover, Pa.-based Utz Brands, a maker of potato chips and salty snacks, hired Theresa Robbins Shea as executive VP, general counsel & corporate secretary. Shea had been VP and general counsel at True Value Co., a post she held since 2018.

Shea had been with Chicago-based True Value since 2007, serving as assistant general counsel, labor & employment. More recently, Shea served as executive sponsor for the Inclusion & Diversity Council and True Value Foundation. Since 2020, she led the hardware distributor’s internal COVID Crisis Team.

At Utz, Shea will report directly to Dylan Lissette, CEO. “As a newly public company, we continue to build out our executive team to provide legal and strategic support to help guide the business forward,” Lissette said in a press release announcing the hire. “We are very pleased to have a legal professional of Theresa’s caliber join the Utz team.”

Before her True Value career, Shea served as senior counsel at United Airlines, Inc.
