Fast-rising specialty retailer Floor & Decor is expanding in New England.

The Atlanta-based specialty flooring, decor, and tools retailer is opening a new location in Waltham, Mass., roughly 12 miles outside of Boston.

Scheduled to open on Sept. 23, the store marks the third Massachusetts location for Floor & Decor.

This opening follows recent store additions in Naples, Fla.; Bohemia and Bohemia, N.Y.; South Austin, Texas; and Columbia, S.C.

The Texas opening marked the company’s 150th store and has been followed by 3 more openings. Floor & Decor plans to open about 27 stores in fiscal 2021. A year ago, the company operated about 125 stores in 30 states.

This latest Massachusetts warehouse store measures in at 70,000-square-feet and includes a design center. The size footprint is similar to other stores opened by the company in recent months.

“Floor & Decor is thrilled to open our doors in Waltham,” said Bill Kwok, chief executive merchant at the Waltham location. “We are excited to introduce both professional customers, as well as homeowners, to our one-stop solution for their flooring needs with an extensive selection of in-stock, trend-right flooring options. We offer unmatched service and quality flooring at unbeatable prices. With our free design services, we look forward to helping every customer turn their vision into reality.”

As has been the case with other recent openings, Floor & Decor is inviting builders, contractors, architects, designers, remodelers, flooring installers, and realtors to visit the new location while learning about services and products.

“Building relationships with our local professionals is very important to us. Their success is our success,” said Kwok.

Floor & Decor also offers a Pro Premier Program. Stores typically carry more than 1 million square feet of in-stock flooring along with tools and accessories.
