Floor & Decor continues to expand in Florida
Shortly after Floor & Decor reached a milestone with the opening its 200th store in New Orleans earlier this month, the home improvement retailer expanded again with a pair of new locations in the Sunshine State.
A VIP Grand Opening event at the home improvement retailer’s latest store in Waterford Oaks, Florida is scheduled for May 30. The location is Floor & Decor’s fourth store in the Orlando market and store #202.
In mid-May, Floor & Decor also opened store #201 in South Fort Myers. This is the company’s third location in the Fort Myers market.
Floor & Decor now operates about 26 stores in Florida. Overall, the retailer has 202 locations in 36 states. The total includes five design studios with the vast majority of the company’s stores being a 78,000 to 80,000-square-foot warehouse format.
For 2023, Floor & Decor CEO Tom Taylor said the company expects to open 32 to 35 new stores.
The Waterford Oaks store is led by Wayne Rader, the new store’s chief executive merchant. Christopher Hernandez is overseeing the North Fort Myers outlet.

Just about each Floor & Decor store carries more than one million square feet of in-stock flooring with accompanying free design services. The stores offer homeowners and professionals one of the broadest in-stock selections of tile, natural wood, natural stone, laminate, and luxury vinyl plank, under one roof.
Each store, including the latest two openings, hosts a PRO Services Team in addition to offering PRO Partners services and the company’s PRO Premier rewards program.
With each new store opening, Floor & Decor hosts builders, contractors, architects, designers, remodelers, flooring installers and realtors for special PRO VIP Grand Opening events. This includes learning about pro programs and a tour of the new location.
