Fire alarms recalled

Kidde recalls various smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

Kidde recalled TruSense smoke and combination smoke/carbon monoxide alarms due to risk of failure to alert consumers to a fire.

The move affects about 226,000 units.

Consumers have been asked to  contact Kidde for a free replacement alarm. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission recall alert. Consumers should keep using the recalled alarms until they install replacement alarms,

Walmart, Home Depot, Menards and other department, home and hardware stores and electrical distributors nationwide, and online at Amazon.com, ShopKidde.com and other online retailers from May 2019 through September 2020 for between $10 and $70.

The products were manufactured in China.
