LBM Advantage reported that Duncan Facey is retiring from his position as vice president of forest products after 11 years with the cooperative, along with its predecessor ENAP.

Facey has been LBM Advantage’s ivice president of forest products since 2009 and has overseen dramatic growth in sales and efficiency, taking the forest products division from $250 million at ENAP in 2009 to over $1 billion at LBM Advantage, the cooperative said.

LBM Advantage’s executive team and member-based search committee has named Tim Johnson as Facey’s replacement and the new vice president of forest products. Johnson has served as the vice president of Southeastern Operations since 2017 and is the former president of IBSA.

“We could not have found a better person to fill this important role. In addition to his depth of experience, Tim understands the co-op, and is dedicated to serving our members”, said Steve Sallah, president and CEO of LBM Advantage.

Johnson brings nearly 30 years of experience to his new role including 10 years of executive leadership. He has been responsible for developing new sales territories and operations and has overseen strong growth in the Southeast region for LBM Advantage. He also has seven years of experience working for a hardware cooperative.

Regarding Facey’s tenure at the cooperative, LBM Advantage said that his leadership and broad experience have been a significant contributor its success. He transitioned the organization from a service-centric philosophy to a sales and service approach – which included taking positions with mills on contracts and blocks – and greatly contributed to the value and the dividend to Advantage shareholders.

LBM Advantage operates locations in New Windsor, N.Y., Grand Rapids, Mich., Smithfield, N.C., and Monroe, La., offering national programs with regional expertise. The co-op has more than 500 independent members.
