Big Show offers big stage for Hartmann

2/19/2019
The National Hardware Show tapped True Value Company CEO John Hartmann as a keynote speaker for the upcoming event in May.

Hartmann’s presentation is called “Unlocking True Value.” It is expected to highlight the company’s structural transformation from a co-op to a no-stock required hardware distributor, a move that led to the return to its members of some $230 million of shareholders' equity.

“Our industry is rapidly changing, and the National Hardware Show is the perfect place for both retailers and manufacturers to come together to address this transformation,” said Hartmann. “I’m honored to discuss how the independent hardware retailer is well positioned for growth and profitability at the show.”

Hartmann has more than 25 years of corporate experience at the senior executive level. He joined True Value in 2013. Previously, he served as CEO at New Zealand-based cooperative Mitre 10. He also spent nine years in business development and operational roles at The Home Depot and HD Supply.

Hartmann’s keynote will take place on Tuesday morning, May 7 on the stage in the NRHA Village located in the Central Hall lobby immediately following the show’s opening ceremony.

“We are honored to welcome John Hartmann as one of our keynote speakers,” said Rich Russo, industry VP for the National Hardware Show. “John’s extensive experience will inspire exciting conversation between retailers and manufacturers about the ever-changing hardware and home landscape. NHS will most definitely be a must-attend place for our industry to learn about trends and innovations in the hardware space and beyond.”

The National Hardware Show comes to Las Vegas May 7-9.
