Distributors look ahead to Annual Convention
The North American Association of Floor Covering Distributors (NAFCD) and the North American Building Material Distribution Association (NBMDA) announced that they expect their Annual Convention will bring together more than 800 distribution professionals representing the leading flooring and building product distribution companies in the U.S. and Canada.
The NAFCD + NBMDA Annual Convention with take place this week November 14-16, 2017 at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
The two associations have combined efforts in hosting the event since 2010.
“We are thrilled by the interest in this year’s event,” said Kevin Gammonley, NAFCD and NBMDA Executive Director. “The joint event between the two organizations continues to be a rich setting for distributor professionals to make business connections and learn from educational sessions addressing relevant industry trends and distribution management challenges.”
With 196 exhibitor booths and 47 first-time exhibitors the tabletop networking forum allows distributors and suppliers to connect face to face and conduct meaningful business planning. Meetings are coordinated by appointment to ensure a highly focused and productive environment.
Boise Cascade opening St. Louis distribution center
Boise Cascade Company revealed that it is opening a new distribution center, which will serve the St. Louis metro market and surrounding areas.
The new facility in Pontoon Beach, Ill.. will be open for business on Nov. 15. Boise Cascade has served the St. Louis market for many years from its Memphis distribution center. The new location will have a sales and operations staff and indoor/outdoor storage space to handle a broader range of products.
"We`re excited about expanding our footprint in St. Louis," said Randy Zulager, Memphis, Mo., branch manager. "With this facility, we`ll be able to significantly increase our product offering and service capability for our customers to support the area`s growth in home construction as well as remodel and repair."
Based in Boise, Idaho, Boise Cascade is one the largest U.S. manufacturers and distributors of engineered wood products, plywood, and building products.
Executive moves at Eastern Engineered Wood
Bethlehem, Pa.-based Eastern Engineered Wood Products, a wholesale distributor of structural wood products used in residential and light-commercial construction, added two new employees.
Wade Buick joins the company as director of operations. His background includes leadership and executive experience in the truck manufacturing and chemical industries, as well as the United States Navy. He will oversee all aspects of production, customer service, technical service, and logistics.
Jeff McLaughlin is the most recent addition to our team of outside sales representatives. He has a wealth of sales experience and customer relationships acquired from past positions in building products distribution, retail, and component manufacturing, the company said. He will be responsible for collaborating with retail dealers and component manufacturers in Maryland and Northern Virginia, as well as the counties of Kent and Sussex in Delaware.
“Wade and Jeff will play important roles in elevating our customers’ experience and further leveraging our wide-reaching distribution platform,” states Todd Lindsey, President of Eastern Engineered Wood Products. “In addition, we expect that Wade will positively impact our employees’ work experience.”
