Bliffert's pink truck rakes in donations

11/10/2020

Early this year, Bliffert Lumber & Hardware announced plans to hit the road in an eye-catching pink delivery truck to raise awareness of breast cancer and to raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Wisconsin.

"We have have had great feedback from our customers," said Lisa Bliffert.

Not only that, the Milwaukee-based hardware and LBM dealer's original pledge to donate 20 cents per mile driven in 2020 doubled to 40 cents per mile, resulting in an Oct. 23 donation of just under $9,000 -- after 22,246 miles driven.

Bliffert Lumber & Hardware Morgan Avenue Manager Chris Hegeman presented a check to Robin Luther from Susan G. Komen Wisconsin for $8,898.40.

The dealer's regular fleet sports a blue-and-white color scheme.

With seven locations, Bliffert Lumber and Hardware, a member of the Do it Best co-op, has been serving contractors and homeowners in southeastern Wisconsin for more than 115 years. It is now in its 5th generation of Bliffert family ownership.
