Beacon has reported its second aquisition of 2023.

Building products distributor Beacon is off to a fast start in 2023.

A day removed from announcing it had acquired Boston-based Whitney Building Products, Beacon reported that it has purchased First Coastal Exteriors.

Based in Mobile, Ala., First Coastal Exteriors distributes complementary residential and commercial building products including siding, gutter products, and windows.

“The First Coastal team has expertly served construction industry customers for decades,” said Gary Miller, owner of First Coastal. “We are very pleased to join Beacon and continue to serve our loyal customers with the benefits of Beacon’s scale and service model.”

First Coastal operates a second location in Pearl, Miss. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are thrilled to welcome First Coastal employees and customers,” said Lynn France, Beacon’s Regional Vice President, Southeast. “Our joint resources in the Alabama and Mississippi markets will broaden the product offering, allowing customers to grow their businesses while expanding career opportunities for all employees.”

Yesterday, Beacon announced it was expanding its waterproofing products distribution reach with the acquisition of Whitney Building Products

Whitney has served the construction and restoration industry in New England since 1946 while providing commercial and multifamily waterproofing and restoration products.

The acquisition of First Coastal is the latest piece of Beacon’s “Ambition 2025” growth strategy, which includes the opening of greenfield branches in addition to acquisitions.

“This acquisition is another exciting addition as we continue to expand our footprint and drive toward achieving our Ambition 2025 growth targets,” added Munroe Best, Beacon’s President of the South Division.

Based in Herndon, Va., Beacon operates more than 470 locations in all 50 states and Canada’s 6 provinces. The company serves nearly 100,000 customers.
