Williams Sonoma chief pleased by Q2
Laura Alber, president and CEO of home furnishings retailer Williams Sonoma described her company’s second quarter performance as "solid."
The company reported second-quarter net revenues of $1.039 billion, up 5.8%.
“We are pleased to have delivered another quarter of solid performance, once again demonstrating the competitive advantages resulting from our multi-brand, multi-channel business model.”
Net income grew 5.0% to $50.7 million.
Alber continued: “We enter the second half of 2014 well-positioned across our brands from a marketing, merchandise offering, store and online experience standpoint. We remain focused on disciplined execution against our growth initiatives and a balanced approach to capital allocation to continue to drive shareholder value."
Flooring distributor expands in Twin Cities
Metropolitan Hardwood Floors leased a 16,063-sq.-ft. distribution facility in the Minneapolis suburb of Eagan.
Metropolitan Hardwood Floors is the exclusive distributor of Kentwood and Evoke flooring lines and also handles many other manufacturers.
It was the 15th deal that Bruininks has done with Metropolitan Hardwood Floors, totaling approximately 340,000 sq. ft.
The hardwood flooring distributor is growing quickly in Minnesota and needed to establish a physical presence near Minneapolis and St. Paul, according to the company’s real estate agent, Brian Bruinkinks of The Andover Co./Corfac International. Eight deals have been done in the Seattle area where the flooring distributor’s U.S. operations are based, while other transactions have been completed in Omaha, Nebraska; Denver, Colo.; and a recent lease in Austin, Texas.
In Eagan, Metropolitan Hardwood leased space in Flagship Business Campus II at 915 Blue Gentian Road, Suite 600. The 24-ft. clear-height distribution facility features freeway visibility and offers 1,850 sq. ft. of office area with the remainder warehouse.
Ken Wilbanks set to speak at this year’s PDIS
