Weyerhaeuser expands production of sheathing product

Weyerhaeuser has announced the addition of a production line this summer for its radiant barrier sheathing (RBS) at its oriented strand board (OSB) mill in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. The added manufacturing capacity will help meet demand for the product in California, Arizona and Nevada, the company said.

The Federal Way, Wash.-based company already produces RBS in Arcadia, La. The product is a foil-laminated OSB roof sheathing that helps lower home energy use by reflecting 97% of the sun’s radiant energy, cooling homes and also reducing energy bills. 

The panels offer an efficient and cost-effective way to help keep homes cool and comfortable while reducing energy bills.

PACOA hires veteran executive

Distributor PACOA hired 40-year industry veteran Mike Kudiak as senior merchandising manager, effective July 16.

Based in Port Washington, N.Y., the wholesale distributor of paint, hardware, lumber, janitorial, and building supplies serves independent retail dealers throughout the New York Tri-State area. It operates a 92,000 sq. ft. warehouse with 15,000 skus on premises.

“We are excited to have Mike on our team and to use his experience to assist in PACOA’s continued growth,” said Steve Geismar, president.

Rosen Materials hires former Stock exec

Rosen Materials, a Florida-based distributor of residential and commercial gypsum products and steel framing, has hired Andrew Randle as director of national accounts.

Andrew joins Rosen from Stock Building Supply, where he spent six years and held numerous positions, including building material sales, key account management, divisional sales management and his most recent role as national account manager to numerous top production builders.

Prior to joining Stock, Randle spent 10 years with United States Gypsum Co. During his tenure at USG, Randle progressed through several key roles, which included industrial sales, gypsum sales, technical sales, district sales manager and finally product marketing management in the company’s Chicago headquarters.

In his new role, Randle will be concentrating on national builder and commercial customers across the United States, focusing on new business opportunities and enhancing existing relationships. Joe Todd, a former executive VP of ProBuild, is a principal in the firm.

Rosen Materials now operates 10 locations that serve Chicago, Las Vegas, and numerous Florida markets, including Miami, Fort Meyers, Jacksonville, Lakeland, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach and Wildwood.

In addition to stucco and steel framing, the company also sells insulation, stucco, roofing and other specialty building materials.
