Top Knobs launches Sanctuary Collection
Hillsborough, N.J.-based decorative hardware manufacturer Top Knobs turned to the classic oval shape for its Sanctuary Collection Oval series. Oval knobs and slot knobs are available in three sizes with optional backplates. Top Knobs Oval thin pulls come in five sizes (including appliance pulls).
"We know that the most popular kind of diamond ring is oval-shaped because of its timeless beauty and pleasing aesthetic," said David Tyler, VP of marketing for Top Knobs.
The newly launched Oval series is available in eight finishes including Brushed Satin Nickel, Flat Black, German Bronze, Oil Rubbed Bronze, Pewter Antique, Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel and Tuscan Bronze.
Construction spending flat in January
Although overall construction spending didn’t change much between December and January, residential construction rose by 5.3%, to $245.6 billion, in January 2011, according to figures just released by the U.S. Department of Commerce.
Spending on non-residential construction in January hit $244.4 billion, dipping 6.9% below December 2010’s figure. Taken together, spending on private construction was essentially flat — 1.2% in month-over-month figures.
In January, the rate of public construction spending was almost completely flat: $301.8 billion, a 0.1% change from December 2010.
Comparing January of 2011 with January 2010, total spending on construction was off by 5.7%, counting both private and public projects. Categories that showed gains included transportation, health care, and power and water utilities.
Wilsonart names new executive
Wilsonart International has announced the appointment of Sue Rothberg as VP manufacturing. In her new role, Rothberg will oversee manufacturing operations, supply chain and logistics at Wilsonart’s facilities in North America, as well as at the Arborite facility in Montreal, Quebec.
Rothberg brings to Wilsonart more than 25 years of experience in manufacturing, technology, logistics and supply chain management, including 23 years with IBM in a broad range of roles.
Rothberg will assume the day-to-day responsibilities handled by Rusty Booth, now senior VP. Rusty Booth remains with Wilsonart, assisting Rothberg with her transition and with Wilsonart’s other global Decorative Surfacing businesses.
Based in Temple, Texas, Wilsonart International is a producer of high-pressure laminate flooring.
