TCP hires former GE executive
TCP Inc., the Cleveland manufacturer of energy-efficient lighting products, has hired Jim Connolly as its new senior VP retail division. A 24-year veteran of General Electric (GE), Connolly’s experience includes management assignments in retail sales, marketing, product development and business strategy. Most recently, Connolly was the general manager for GE’s consumer and industrial lighting division, where he was responsible for leading its retail/consumer lighting business group, overseeing sales and marketing activities in the food, drug, hardware, office and home center market channels.
TCP makes and markets a variety of energy-efficient lighting products, including compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs), LED lamps and fixtures, cold cathode lamps, exit and emergency lighting, HID, decorative and outdoor fixtures.
Nelson Tree Service names VP
Dayton, Ohio-based Nelson Tree Service has appointed Robert “Bob” Turner Jr. to VP. Turner began working for Nelson in 1998 as supervisor in New Jersey and was promoted to assistant area manager and then regional manager of the Northeast.
He now oversees more than 400 employees working for nine utilities in four states.
Turner is a New Jersey Certified Tree Expert, ISA Certified Arborist/Utility Specialist, Maryland Tree Expert and a Certified Pesticide Commercial Applicator in several states. He is a board member for the New Jersey Shade Tree Federation and the Mountain Lake Vegetation Management Council in Virginia.
Nelson Tree Service offers vegetation management including customary line clearance trimming, storm restoration services, herbicide application and off-road trimming programs.
Hoover appoints new marketing VP
TTI Floor Care North America has announced the appointment of Brian Kirkendall as its new VP marketing for Hoover. Kirkendall will be responsible for all advertising, public relations, sales and promotion, as well as R&D and product inception efforts.
Kirkendall comes to TTI with nearly 20 years of experience in brand work for consumer products. Recently he was VP marketing and licensing at Step2 Toys, and prior to that he held VP marketing titles for Little Tikes and Newell Rubbermaid. Earlier in his career he was a product manager for Scotts Miracle-Gro and Black & Decker.
Hoover brand floor care products include lithium-ion battery powered cordless vacuums, upright and canister vacuums, carpet cleaners, hard-floor cleaners and central vacuum systems.
