The founder of Pest Control Insulation Systems says the time is right for an insulation product that doubles as pest control.
The company’s Thermal Acoustic Pest (TAP) Control Insulation offers energy efficiency, while helping control cockroaches, silverfish, ants, termites and other crawling insects, said Bill Turk, co-founder and CEO of Pest Control insulation Systems, manufacturer of TAP. "TAP Insulation leads a new generation of pest management and energy efficiency and adds real value to a home," he added.
The product is made of more than 85% recycled material and uses borates, as opposed to synthetic pesticides.

Lowe’s introduces Dacor appliances
Mooresville, N.C.-based Lowe’s is adding Dacor to its appliance mix in select Lowe’s stores and offering Dacor for special order from the rest.
Costa Mesa, Calif.-based Dacor makes luxury kitchen appliances. Two of the standout products offered through Lowe’s are the Renaissance 36-in. Gas Cooktop and the Renaissance 30-in. Single Wall Oven.
"We are excited to be able to offer our customers Dacor appliances and continue to add to our already wide range of appliances in-store," said Craig Webber, Lowe’s VP merchandising for appliances. The national unemployment rate unexpectedly slipped one-tenth of a percentage point to 8.9% in February.
But the big movement among consumer data was in gas prices, up 15 cents to a national average of $3.50 for regular gallon of gas. If gas prices continue to rise, expect consumer confidence to slip from its February reading of 70.4.
On the Home Channel Stock Roundup, eight of the 10 companies tracked showed gains for the month and the year. Beacon Roofing Supply was up 10.3% for the month, and Tractor Supply Co. was up 92.5% for the year.
The Census Bureau will release its monthly Retail Trade Report March 11.
