Susan Roeder promoted to public affairs director at Andersen

Andersen Corporation has promoted Susan M. Roeder to director of public affairs, in which she will be responsible for growing the company’s presence via public outreach.

Roeder has been with Andersen since 1996 in a community outreach capacity. Since then, she has taken on additional responsibilities in the name of developing its public affairs initiatives and overseeing public relations.

“Susan has been the public face of Andersen to the community for 17 years,” said Andersen Vice President of Corporate Communications Laurie Bauer. “State and federal government actions can have a significant impact on our ability to do business – and we want to ensure we are part of the conversation.”

Roeder also serves as vice president of the Andersen Corporate Foundation board of directors, as well as a member of the Corporate Advisory Board for Yellowstone National Park and the board of directors for Como Friends at the Como Zoo in St. Paul.

84 Lumber honors Weyerhaeuser

84 Lumber, the country’s fifth-largest LBM dealer with more than 250 locations, has named Weyerhaeuser as its Vendor Partner of the Year, the forest product giant announced. 

The award recognizes sales growth, consistent service and value-added support. 

Among 84’s vendor partners, Weyerhaeuser achieved the largest sales volume and sales dollars year to date, with an 83% increase over 2012, the company said. The pro dealer recognized Weyerhaeuser as “a great strategic partner,” noting in particular its ability to maintain a consistent flow of wood products from its mills at a time when some in the industry are experiencing supply constraints. Weyerhaeuser also has been a consistently reliable source for a variety of commodities and specialty building products through its national network of distribution centers.

“Weyerhaeuser prides itself on providing our dealers with not only quality products and reliable service, but on being a true partner through value-added benefits, such as training, marketing tools and our in-field sales team that provides one-on-one support,” said Steve Grohowalski, national account manager for Weyerhaeuser. 

Weyerhaeuser, one of the world’s largest forest products companies, began operations in 1900.

Roofing Supply Group expands in Ohio and Pa.

Roofing Supply Group has announced plans to open two new locations in Canton, Ohio and White Oak, Pa., marking the 18th and 19th branches to operate in the Rocky Mountain/Midwest region.

The branches will further RSG’s overall expansion strategy and will operate under Jeff Willis, regional senior VP and Pat Jennings, Midwest District manager.
