Pro-Lab launches Allergen Test Kit to identify allergens in the home
Pro-Lab has extended its line of self-care test kits to include the new Allergen Test Kit.
"Allergies are becoming more prevalent, with millions of Americans suffering year-round because of allergens trapped within their homes," said Jamie McDonnell, Pro-Lab CEO. "We created the Allergen Test Kit to give Americans the resource they need to identify the source of their ailments."
The Pro-Lab Allergen Test Kit offers a way to detect allergen particles — users secure an included attachment to a vacuum nozzle and run in suspect locations. Once the sample cassette is filled, the cassette is placed in a pre-addressed mailer to be analyzed.
"The results empower families with the knowledge needed to protect themselves," McDonnell said. "Pinpointing the location of allergens allows them to be eradicated instead of continuing with endless symptom treatment."
Kits will be available Aug. 1, the company noted, with distribution across several national retailers, including Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, Menards, Ace, True Value and Amazon. Suggested retail price for the Allergen Test Kits is $9.95.
Armstrong unveils luxury Architectural Remnants flooring
Architectural Remnants, the latest collection from Armstrong Residential Flooring, aims to provide a decidedly upscale experience to the laminate flooring market.
The reclaimed hardwood collection is characterized by multiple species and colors, as well as varied widths and a distressed quality. Armstrong employs special imaging technology to ensure a true-to-life color scheme.
“These floors would likely have come from an old church or barn in the countryside, a shuttered city warehouse or a 20th century antique salvage yard,” said Sara Babinski, principal designer for laminate flooring. “Texture is the new color. Color has long been the first attraction for consumers. It’s often the key factor when buying a floor. But recently, texture has come to the forefront as a welcome design enhancement."
The collection also features VisionGuard, a wearlayer that helps maintain the floor’s condition, and HydraCore Plus, a core that stabilizes the laminate and adds density to the product.
“Customers are always looking for visual options, and the different widths that accent the visuals give the customer an opportunity buy a laminate that doesn’t look like a traditional laminate floor,” said Eric Mondragon, hard surface buyer for the flooring division of RC Willey Home Furnishings, according to an Armstrong statement. “[This product] has the look of a true reclaimed and skip saw hardwood."
