PBS acquires Benchmark Supply
Professional Builders Supply has expanded its North Carolina footprint with the addition of Benchmark Supply, a specialty window and door supplier located in Monroe.
Jake Krieg, the founder and owner of Benchmark, and his team will join forces with Professional Builders Supply’s Charlotte operation.
In a prepared statement, Van Isley, Professional’s CEO said: “We are excited that Jake and his associates have agreed to join us and we look forward to furthering our aggressive aspirations in the Charlotte market. The Benchmark team has a solid customer base and a reputation based on service that fits well with our model. In turn, we are able to provide additional resources and support as well as additional product lines that will benefit those customers.”
Professional Builders Supply operates in Morrisville, Wilmington and Charlotte.
Home Depot experiments with 3-D printers
The 3-D printer movement got a boost months ago when Home Depot began offering 3-D printers and scanners for sale through its website.
Now the world’s largest home improvement retailer is bringing the products to shelves in select markets. Home Depot is introducing MakerBot 3-D printers and scanners in select stores in Chicago, New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco.
On the retailer’s website, a fifth-generation MakerBot Replicator Desktop 3-D Printer sells for $2,899. A MakerBot Digitizer Desktop 3D Scanner is priced at $799.
MakerBot is based in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Legacy Manufacturing hires product development director
Marion, Iowa-based Legacy Manufacturing appointed Marco Laubach as director of product development.
Laubach will oversee development of Legacy’s product initiatives in the areas of lubrication equipment, hose reels, pneumatic couplers, accessories and the company’s Flexzilla brand of extreme performance air and water hoses. He comes to Legacy with nearly 20 years of engineering experience with ITW Paslode as senior project engineer; Daniel Woodhead Company as project engineer; and most recently, Robert Bosch Tool Corporation as engineering manager.
Laubach, who holds numerous pneumatic nailer patents, brings with him strong technical leadership skills and a solid record of innovation. Legacy products are found in the agricultural, automotive, construction, industrial and home improvement markets.
